The British Columbia White Rock All-Stars are going to Williamsport, Pennsylvania to compete in the Little League World Series. The tournament will take place August 20th-30th.
White Rock defeated the East Nepean Eagles 16-0 in the championship game. #15 Matthew Wilkinson pitched all 5 innings, putting on a clinic and throwing 13 strikeouts. #6 Darius Opdam Bak had a home run and 3 RBIs, and #14 Trent Lenihan had 2 home runs and 4 RBIs.
The 2015 Canadian Little League Championship is now over. The Organizing Committee would like to commend all the teams that participated in the championship. They demonstrated great athleticism and sportsmanship in front of the whole country.
The Committee would also like to thank all of the volunteers that came out and the fans that cheered their teams on from across Canada. Finally, the Committee would like to thank all of the amazing sponsors that helped make the tournament possible including presenting sponsor Mattamy Homes and host sponsor Barrhaven BIA.
The Championship showed that Barrhaven has arrived at the National level, and is ready for any future challenges that may come. The Committee would like to wish the White Rock All-Stars good luck on their trip to Williamsport.
Next year’s tournament will be held in Vancouver by host Hastings Community Little League. Best of luck to the committee out in B.C.
