Day five of the 2015 Canadian Little League Championships started big and ended big. The day saw White Rock take on Moose Jaw, High Park play NDG and Glace Bay versus Lethbridge.
White Rock (3-1) came out swinging and won the game with a commanding 31-0 score against Moose Jaw (0-4). 19 of those runs came in the third inning alone. #30 Jay Mather was credited with the win in the game. They had 6 home runs in the game, with two of them coming from #35 Kieran Ritchie who had 4 RBIs as well. #34 Marcus Bradley had 5 RBIs.
In the second game of the day, the Braves (4-0) took down the Lynx (0-4) 12-3. The winning pitcher was #48 Maximilian Zentil. #24 David Calabrese had 3 RBIs, and three players had home runs. The Braves are now tied with the East Nepean Eagles (4-0) in first place. They battle it out tomorrow at 6pm.
The final game of the day saw Glace Bay (2-3) beat Lethbridge (2-3) 6-3. The game was called short in the 5th inning due to rain and lightning. Winning pitcher #29 Parker Hanrahan had six strikeouts in the match. #26 Liam Burke had the only homer, his third of the tournament.
Tomorrow will see Lethbridge start the day at 12pm against White Rock, either Moose Jaw or NDG will have their first win of the tournament starting at 3 pm, and the battle for first between East Nepean and High Park will be at 6pm.
