While most people may be coming to see East Nepean Little League and the other provincial winners at the 2015 Canadian Little League Championship, the tournament will be shifting their attention at certain times for the Challenger Game.
East Nepean Little League is Nationally known for its excellence both on and off the field. Challenger Baseball is for 5-18 year olds who have a physical or developmental disability, and who want to have fun in an encouraging, friendly team environment.
The Challenger Game will take place on August 15th, in part to it’s Sponsor Kelsey’s Barrhaven. The East Nepean Challenger Team will face off against the Ottawa All-Stars. This will be quite the day for the tournament . The Semi-Finals will take place at 12:30 and 3:00 PM. The festivities pick back up at 5:40 with the Ottawa Firefighters Band.
At 6:10, the day will continue with the presentation of the Marthe Dubroy Volunteer of the Year Award, Guest of Honour Master Corporal Jody Mitic and numerous special guests including Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson and Ottawa-West Nepean MPP Bob Chiarelli.
The Challenger Game starts off at 6:30, followed by a Dinner at the Park for all players, coaches, umpires and game day personnel. This exciting day will be capped off with a concert by the Winner of the Barrhaven Battle of the Bands.
This event is free to come and watch, just like the rest of the tournament. Mark August 15th, 2015 on your calendars as a can’t miss day for the 2015 Canadian Little League Championship.
